The cake

I decided to make Sophie's birthday Cake this year...


I baked the cakes a few days before and put them in the deep freeze until the day before I was ready to frost. Here's the pictures of the progress...
I love the colors



Note... the cake was a little tippy... ala leaning tower
If I do this again I'm going to make the bottom few layers more substantial than the ones that are placed on top of them... maybe we wouldn't have had an issue if I would have thought of this earlier... hmmmm




We ran out of frosting at about this point...
which didn't help the leaning any.
oh well.


Frosting is pretty forgiving... you just add more to make it look level.
PS... use dowels to stabilize just in case.

I know the S looks like a 5 but whattaya gonna do.
It's my first try. ahha
