HAPPY 30 (or 29 +1 which ever).

Sooo
You guessed it. I'm 30!

Friday was the big day. It was pretty much AMAZING.
My Car stereo was buggin so Jake tore it apart and
got a new one for me. ;)
Love that he does the electronic stuff so well... I mean I was on minervision in H.S. but that's about the extent of my electrical skillz.
After running around we dropped the kid off at Her grandma Roxane's and Jake took me to dinner at Franck's.

I felt slightly guilty ordering. Going to a fine dining eatery and ordering what is traditionally a no fuss, simple, comfort food. I had heard so much praise for this particular dish though, that I just had to try it. I checked with our server and she agreed “Yes, you really do need to try it!” So, I went ahead and ordered Franck’s southern fried coconut and lemongrass chicken.
Delicious.
(excuse the camera phone shot)

It's pretty much the most amazing place to eat in the entire state. YUM.
I had the Southern Chicken...loved every morsel.
If you want to visit it's by Tuscany (and there by also by the cotton bottom ahah)Just a bit to the south. Enter on Holladay Blvd.

May I suggest the Cheese tray for your first taste. It's delicious. I didn't know cheese could blow your mind. It can.

After dinner we went up to the Cliff Lodge at snowbird. I had no idea how big a suite could be. Two thumbs way up.

We had some dessert at the Aerie, which is spectacular. It kinda felt good to be ID'd, except I didn't' have my DL on me. So they took a copy of Jake's. haha . the old man will vouch for me.

(the inside view from our room.. eek)

The Guava creme brulee was delicious, just hook me up to an IV of that please.
Saturday Morning we went on a great hike and we were going to hit up the tram (I laugh in the face of Heights ... not) but it didn't open until 11am. (Damn the bad luck). So we are going to go up next month (If I can muster the courage). I'm serious when I say It is highly possible that I would end up face down in the middle of the hovering death trap crying my eyes out, wailing out something about food storage and living wills if there were to be any turbulence. I made Jake check the Internet to see when the last Tram disaster was just in case snowbird was up for one. haha. funny but true.
It's interesting how I was not scared to die when I came home from my mission (I even went on the major roller coasters at lagoon) but now the fear of flying and of heights gets to me. Gets to me in a way that makes me long for a Xanex.

We enjoyed our time in the canyon and then came home and watched Cowboys and Aliens. The jury is still out on that one. I want to like it. I really do. I don't know what is stopping me. I thought Indiana Jones + James Bond = Good Movie... hmmm. still trying to decide what I think.
I have decided that I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new kindle. Thank you family!
BEST idea ever.
I love how it's not back lit. I can read for longer amounts of time with my good eye.
Speaking of good eyes. I was the unfortunate recipient of a small infection at the base of my eyelashes... YUP a stye. Sucks bad. Sucks because it truly is my good eye. For the last few days Jake has had to drive at night because my vision is shot. Good think I can adjust the font on my Kindle to somewhere between "great grandma type" and "legally blind." That just means there are only 4 words per page. It's light as a feather and holds a charge for 4 months. that's just crazy . I love it .
