Tuesday night I was driving home and started feeling funny.. mostly in my throat.. so i started counting my heart beats... and it was really alarming how high it was.
I've heard of pregnant women going tachacardic sometime in their 9 months but this was too much for me. I got home and called jake but he didn't answer.. he was in Kamas at a shooting thing. I decided to call 911 because I couldn't get my heart rate to go down by breathing... So it took ten min. for the ambulance to show up.
There wasn't any pain until the paramedics tried to butcher me putting in the IV. they had to try 5 times. oh well. I'm alive now.
So what I had is called SVT - SupraVentricular Tachacardia.
The electrical impluse that tells my heart to beat had a glitch and went haywire. It's never happened before and the hospital couldn't find anything that would have caused it . to get it to come down they had to give me Adenosine (once in my front room , once in the ambulance on the way to the hospital... neither of them worked so then they gave me a double dose of it 12ml in the emergency room. it re sets your heart... not as dramatic as the electrical paddles but still pretty shocking to the body) they did ultrasounds on my heart, veins in my legs, CT scan on my lungs to look for blood clot, and even checked out the baby and everything is perfect. my chest feels like i got the crap beat out of me so i've been resting . it's like when you over exercise a muscle and it needs to relax. my current bpm is about 85-95 now so we're just watching it. the doctors were pretty confused because i don't drink coffee and the caffine can trigger higher heart rates. so now i'm just laying low hanging out.
